About the program

Are you a Pearland ISD educator (teacher, campus/district administrator, specialist, or anyone who impacts teaching and learning in their role) striving to find new ways to engage your students, personal learning community, and/or personal learning network?

The best educators are true innovators!

We are looking for self-driven educators:

  • who are passionate about teaching and learning,
  • who inspire students, teachers, or learning communities/networks with creative thinking,
  • and who work in a truly collaborative spirit to share their learning with the world.

The Educational Technology department is dedicated to equipping and empowering learners to thrive in a constantly changing digital world. This produces learners who are equipped and empowered with a diverse set of technological and critical thinking skills.

The PEARUP program is a premiere program created to help educator visionaries like yourself who want to bring an educational technology passion project from idea to execution with the guidance of a coach. Educators will work with an Educational Technology Coach who specializes in their passion subject via pathways. Our coaches provide expertise, support, and accountability as you bring your educational technology passion project to life.

  • Educators work with Educational Technology Coaches to create an exciting project plan and deliverable
  • Coaches act as accountability partners for educators
  • Coaches curate mini-lessons and teach skills necessary for project completion
  • Project plan and timeline is tailored to educator's needs and goals

Teacherpreneur - Teacher Influencer Pathway

An influencer is "someone who has a social media presence and has the power to affect the decisions of others because of their authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with them."

Teachers are natural influencers due to their education status and constant drive for improvement, both personally and from their students.

Are you interested in becoming a Teacher Influencer who connects with an audience of peers across a variety of platforms offering your followers content they can relate to?

Coding Pathway

Coding is the future. Coding allows students to create content, not simply consume it.

Coding supports many principles of mathematics, teaches storytelling, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and is a safe place for students to take risks and fail. Coding can also enhance existing lesson plans in all subject areas.

Are you ready to take your students and your classroom to the next level by infusing basic coding skills in your existing lessons?

Drone Pathway

From being viewed as novelty toys to really expensive tools, drones have been offering an ever-changing perspective on the world we live in.

Do you have a desire to learn how to fly a drone, but you don't exactly know when you would fly a drone other than your own personal recreation a little here and there?

Incorporating drones into a TEKS-based curriculum can offer students new perspectives, concept reinforcement, and tactile experiences. The sky is truly the limit with drones applied to the classroom!

Game Design & Interactive Media Pathway

Have you found an educational game or simulation that would be perfect for a concept you are covering in class but it is flash-based or in another format that is not supported on our devices? Do you have an idea that would make a great educational game or simulation, but don't know where to begin in order to bring it to life?

True learning is not about memorizing or learning by rote. The right types of games and simulations can challenge and engage a learner into comprehending and then practicing new skills.
